Cookie Policy

1. Scope
This notice covers browser storage used by keyscale.co, the KeyScale workspace and the KeyScale widget on client websites. Browser storage includes cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB and service-worker caches. A client's own site may use additional technologies covered by its own notice.
2. Marketing website
The website does not load advertising or third-party analytics. The key keyscale_storage_notice_v1 remembers dismissal of an informational notice. It stays until you clear it; dismissal does not provide consent. An older keyscale_cookie_consent preference, if present, is not used as permission for optional processing.
Shared application components may also store interface or installation preferences and register a service worker in production. A service worker can register without installing the site to your home screen. Its cache supports application assets and offline navigation; it is not described as a complete offline copy of your workspace.
3. Webchat on our sites and client websites
The KeyScale widget is also used for our own support on the marketing website and inside the CRM. Those two support chats use separate workspace identifiers. The widget loads from cdn.keyscale.co and its chat frame connects to app.keyscale.co. The storage behaviour below applies to these support chats as well as widgets installed on client websites.
When the widget loads, it may read saved chat preferences and session flags. Once you use chat, it stores a conversation identifier and access token, and can remember draft message text and contact details so an interrupted interaction can resume. Local preference keys also remember sound muting and dismissal of a greeting.
Keys begin with keyscale-widget: followed by the workspace identifier. Local entries have no automatic browser expiry in the current widget and remain until cleared or replaced by the application. Session flags generally last for the browser tab's session. Server-side session validity is separate from browser storage lifetime.
We do not use widget storage for cross-site advertising. The site operator must assess which storage is necessary for a function the visitor requested and obtain any required consent before optional storage or proactive features run. Labelling all widget features essential is not a substitute for that assessment.
4. Workspace
Authentication uses a session cookie that expires according to the session configuration; logging out invalidates the session. Local storage also holds interface and installation preferences. IndexedDB can retain unsent replies, including internal notes, until sent, dropped or cleared. Service-worker caches retain application assets until updated or cleared.
Push notifications require browser permission. A push subscription is stored on the server and uses the browser's push service. Disabling notifications in the workspace requests removal; revocation in the browser prevents delivery but may not immediately remove the server record, which is also removed when the push service reports expiry.
5. Your controls
You can remove cookies and other storage in browser settings. This may sign you out, remove drafts or unsent messages and prevent a previous chat from reopening. Clearing browser storage does not erase messages already sent to the server; contact the controller for a data request.
There is no optional-analytics consent collected through the current information notice. Before adding technologies requiring consent, we must explain the specific purposes and provide the necessary choice and withdrawal controls. A previous dismissal or legacy acceptance cannot authorise them.
6. Changes
We update this notice when storage practices change and seek fresh consent where required. See the Privacy Policy for personal-data processing and your rights.
